Travel posters are an ever-popular aspect of graphic design. I thought I would feature a broad spectrum of posters from the first half of the C20th, the golden age of the travel poster probably being associated with the 1920s and 1930s with posters by artists like Roger Broders, featuring sunny Mediterranean scenes.

David Klein
David Klein (1918 - 2005) was born in El Paso, Texas in 1918, bit moved to California where he attended the Art Centre School in Los Angeles. During the 1930s he was a prominent member of the California Watercolour Society.
During World War 2, Klein served in The US Army and produced illustrations for the United States Armed Forces. In 1953 the United States Air Force created the Air Force Art Collection featuring many of Klein's works.
By the mid 1950s Klein had established a reputation as one of America's pre-eminent commercial illustrators. Between 1955 and 1965 Klein designed numerous award-winning travel posters, emblematic of the jet age. The bulk of this work was for TWA.
